Joe Marchesi

Co-Owner Rivals Baseball

Co-owner of Rivals and is the program's lead pitching/catching instructor.  Joe has been coaching Elite/AAU baseball since 2005. 

 

Over this time period, his teams have captured numerous state and regional titles including an AAU National Championship in 2005 with Lightning Baseball of New England. 

 

During his 6 year tenure as Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Everett High School (2009-2012) and Masconomet Regional High School (2007-2008) his programs compiled 96 wins, including a Divisìon 2 North Championship (2008), a Division 2 North Final appearance (2007), 5 league titles (Cape Ann 2007-2008, GBL 2010-2012), and 6 straight state tournament appearances. 

 

Joe is a graduate of Bentley University where he was a 4-year starting pitcher/infielder for the Falcons and named team captain (2004).

Dana D’Agostino

From Wakefield, Dana played his college ball at UMass-Lowell where he was twice named the University’s Top Male Athlete.  

A three time All New England selection, Dana graduated as the career leader in HR’s, RBI’s and Total Bases.

He moved on to play for the Modena Baseball Club of the Italian Professional League finishing among the league leaders in HR’s, RBI’s, 2B’s and SB’s.

He was selected to play for the Italian National team and earned 2nd team all-tournament honors for the 2003 University Games in Messina, Sicily. Having coached both high school varsity baseball and Elite/AAU baseball, Dana is recognized as one of the area’s top hitting instructors.

Kevin Gately

Hitting/Fielding/Pitching Instructor

Coach Gately is a hitting/fielding/pitching instructor for Rivals Baseball.  

Kevin has coached at all levels of baseball.  He has coached at the collegiate level for 12 years at Northeastern University, Holy Cross, and UMass-Lowell.

He was also involved with Lightning Baseball of New England and the Seacoast Thunder Baseball program.

Kevin is a graduate of Northeastern University and was the starting shortstop for NU from 1991-1994.

During those years, the Huskies set the record of most wins by the program twice, 35 in 1991 and 35 in 1994.

Gately captained the 1994 team that won the America East Conference, earning a bid to the program's first NCAA regional tournament since the 1960's.

Bobby Hastry

Hitting/Fielding/Pitching Instructor

Coach Hastry is a pitching/hitting/fielding instructor for Rivals Baseball.  

Bobby attended Maynard High school where he was a 3 time All-League selection.  He was a 3 time Central-Mass All-Star selection, posting a 21-2 high school pitching record.

Playing on scholarship at Division 1 Marist College, Bobby appeared as a late inning reliever and as a weekend starter.

Marist College captured the MAAC conference title in 2005 and went on to face LSU in the College World Series tournament.

After graduation, Coach Hastry was signed by the Kansas City Royals organization.

In one season (Single A-Burlington, NC) he posted a 3.41 e.r.a. as a reliever. Bobby's coaching career began at Belmont High School as the varsity pitching coach for 5 seasons and he currently works at Woburn High School as a special education teacher.
